A Caustic Recovery Plant (CRP) re-concentrates weak, spent caustic soda by evaporating water, making it reusable in industrial processes like textile mercerization. The process involves heating the weak lye to separate water vapor, which is then used to preheat subsequent batches, creating an energy-efficient multi-effect evaporation system. The primary benefits are significant cost savings from reduced fresh caustic purchases and lower waste disposal costs, along with reduced environmental impact by minimizing hazardous waste.

A Caustic Recovery Plant (CRP) is an industrial system designed to recycle and reconcentrate dilute caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), also known as weak lye, back into a usable form for manufacturing processes. These plants are particularly important in the textile industry, especially for mercerizing cotton, where large volumes of weak lye are generated. By evaporating water from the weak lye, the plant produces a strong, concentrated caustic soda solution and also recovers hot water, thus significantly reducing waste, environmental impact, and chemical costs.
